XD Memory cards are extensively used in digital cameras for storing photographs. There are cards that can store up to 8 GB; hence they are high transfer speed and High Technology devices. In the near future, we may get a XD Card error message on the screen of a digital camera as you turn it on. When an error occurs, it can be very upsetting as large amount of pictures are stored in it. We can work on retrieving all pictures unless the card is not corrupt.
Steps to be followed while fixing an XD Card Error include, Firstly stop adding more files to the XD picture card. Adding more files may corrupt the XD card. A corrupt card will keep you away from retrieving your photos back.
Now remove the memory card from the camera and blow on it. Re-insert the card into the camera. Many a times doing only this, card is functional.
If you’re still getting an error message then try placing the card into different camera’s or devices. If the XD card works fine with other cameras then there exists a problem in your camera and not the XD Picture card.
The error message prevails in other devices too, and then uses a XD card reader. A XD card reader allows you to extract files from the memory card and store it onto the computer. Insert the card into the reader and first save your files.
Now format the XD Card using the camera /computer. By formatting, the card will restore all the factory settings and it is ready to use.
